Witches have long been said to fly, travelling beyond the body into other realms.

In this in-person workshop, Fio Gede Parma explores traditions of spirit flight in both historical and contemporary witchcraft. Drawing on sources such as the famous confessions of Isobel Gowdie, participants examine the idea of the witch's 'fetch' or spirit-double – the aspect of the self believed to travel beyond the body. Through breath, voice, movement and stillness, the workshop introduces practical techniques for entering altered states, navigating spirit journeys and returning safely. Participants also explore the role of spirit allies and protective boundaries.
